1. What are Ladder Tournaments?
Our Ladder Tournaments are ongoing competitions that give prizes for playing at TriviaPot. The time length of the competitions can range from a day, week, month or more. Check the Calendar & Rankings page for more info.
All players are automatically eligible to participate once creating their free account. All players start at zero. When you log into the game you will be able to see your different balances for money and points: Total, Daily, Weekly and Monthly.
Players compete against each other in single round game competitions in order to accumulate the most points or money and move up the ladder. Points/Money are won by being the first to answer the questions correctly. Points/Money are lost when you place your entry-fee into the pot and are NOT the first to answer the questions correctly. A player's position may change frequently as they move up or down the ladder while winning/losing points or cash.
The goal is to climb to the top of the ladder and stay there until the tournament ends. Prizes are awarded to the top players on the ladder according to our Ladder Promotions. The ladders will run continuously. As soon as one ends another will begin. You can be kept up to date on the promotions by checking the respective calendars of tournament events.
The amount of points/money that you earn for each ladder tournament is good only for that specific competition. Your overall or total points/money balance will not be a factor in determining whether or not you finish among the top players in any of the tournaments. Daily, weekly and monthly totals will automatically be set back to zero at the end of their respective cycles.

You can participate in Ladder Tournaments two ways:
Play for Free / Player Points - No initial deposit required. As soon as you create your account you will automatically start off with 5,000 in your Player Points balance. Check the Player Points Prize Calendar to find out what promotion is currently being offered. Log in with your user id/password and select the For Points tab in the game lobby.
You can start playing for free right away with the goal being to earn more Player Points. Finish among the top Player Point earners to win the prize for that specific tournament. Prizes can include Trivia Cash(game credits that can be converted to real cash) or gift certificates to some of your favorite stores such as Amazon, iTunes and Best Buy.
Real Money - As soon as you create your account and make your initial deposit, you will be ready to play for Real Money. Check the Real Money Prize Calendar to find out what promotion is currently being offered. Log in with your user id/password and select the For Money tab in the game lobby.
The goal is to earn as much money as possible before the tournament ends. Finish among the top money earners to win the prize for that specific tournament. Prizes can include real cash or gift certificates to some of your favorite stores such as Amazon, iTunes and Best Buy. Details will be specified on the Real Money Prize Calendar
3. How can I get on the Ladder and start playing?
It's easy to get on the Ladders.
Player Points Ladder - As soon as you create your account you will automatically start at the bottom of the Player Points Ladder. Your account will automatically start off with 5,000 in your Player Points balance. Log in with your user id/password and select the For Points tab in the game lobby to begin playing. You are automatically joined on every Ladder competition no matter at what point in the competition you begin play. There is no registration required. New players can join the Ladder at any time by signing up.
Real Money Ladder - As soon as you make your initial deposit, you will automatically start at the bottom of the Real Money Ladder. Log in with your user id/password and select the For Money tab in the game lobby to begin playing. You are automatically joined on every Ladder competition no matter at what point in the competition you begin play. There is no registration required. New players can join the Ladder at any time by signing up and making their first deposit.

You can always check the current Ladder leaders by visiting the Ladder Rankings pages.
Ladder positions are updated daily for all competitions. If you do not see yourself ranked near the top then keep playing. You've got some climbing left to do.

Remember that it's not how many total Player Points or Real Money that you have in your balance but rather how many Player Points or Real Money you have earned for a specific period of time. The time period will correspond with the length of the promotion.

You can win cash, game credits or gift certificates to some of your favorite stores like Amazon, iTunes and Best Buy. Check the ladder promotion pages to keep up to date on the different prizes being offered as well as tournament start times.
